Camelot Unchained opens doors (or creates them, anyway) and previews new animations in latest update

Camelot Unchained’s first weekly update for the month is here, and it’s got all the latest news on what the City State Entertainment team has been up to lately. Some new features have entered testing, including the new ability builder UI which, in combination with the improved ability system, provides players with “a great combo to build out abilities and play how [they] want to play.”

Meanwhile, this week’s Top Tenish list includes features from across the board. Some of them are rather mundane (but nevertheless incredibly important), such as the implementation of tech to allow the devs to create “doors that work as, well, doors,” which also includes the tech required to add portcullises and drawbridges as well as the accompanying interactions with players who are unfortunate enough to be in the way when they open and close. On top of that, the devs are also beginning the process of “speccing out the framework for the entire game world terrain,” bringing them one step closer to bringing the world of Camelot Unchained to life.

And of course, the art and animation team has been laboring away at adding new animations for the game’s various weapon combinations, and the post includes a sneak peek at the WIP idle poses for axe-and-shield and dual-wielded daggers. Also on display is a selection of concept art for the Empath’s gauntlet, one of which will soon be finalized and turned into an in-game model. If you wanna check it out for yourself, you can find the full update post over on the game’s official site.
