This week, Camelot Unchained’s Top Tenish list puts a particular emphasis on the “ish,” as it’s actually a solid top 20 list of items that the City State Games team has made substantial progress on this week. In fact, the devs aren’t planning a testing session this weekend on account of the fact that “so much code has been landing this week that it’s going to take [them] some time to get a solid build ready.” The team has made a “first pass at multithreading the NPC server,” which was a major bottleneck that the devs felt they needed to address, though doing so is likely to “expose some new bottlenecks,” so players in upcoming testing sessions may experience a few issues in large-scale battles. It’s all in the service of future progress, though.
On a slightly more morbid note, the devs have also made significant progress on creating new siege engines, including the thoroughly disgusting but brutally effective corpse chuckers, which do exactly what it says on the tin. There’s even a new cow model in both living and dead-and-decomposing flavors, the latter of which will ultimately be used as ammunition for the aforementioned corpse chuckers. And lastly, on the animation side of things, the team has made a bunch of progress on animation for the two-handed greatsword, including animations for a couple of attacks, deflection, and death, which you can check out along with all of the other in-progress designs over in this week’s update on the game’s official site.
