It may not be as far-flung as some of Destiny’s previous settings have been, but the moon holds an undeniable appeal for science fiction fans. Soon, it’ll also hold a battle to end all battles, thanks to Destiny 2’s newest expansion, Shadowkeep.
Leaked by dataminers in advance of Bungie’s official announcement this Thursday, Shadowkeep will take players to Luna for the first time in Destiny 2, where the Hive have popped up again to tussle with well-armed Guardians. Pre-purchases are due to start soon, and it seems as though there will be a physical collector’s edition as well.
“The next chapter in the Destiny experience arrives this fall as terrifying shadows descend upon a forgotten moon,” the official description says. “Return to the lunar surface. Journey deep into a mysterious enemy citadel. Become a slayer of nightmares.”
In the meanwhile, the race is on to attain a world first:
