RIFT drops a new patch with new battle pass rewards, new daily rewards, and balance tweaks

Rift-raft.

There’s a new patch being deployed for RIFT today, and while it may not have a whole lot of additional content, it will at least include additional reasons to engage with existing content. For one thing, this is the patch that adds in the second season of the game’s Battle Pass, with over 90 different daily missions and 50 different weekly missions. Players can also reroll missions once per day or week (depending on mission type) to find more suitable challenges as needed.

The patch also updates the game’s daily rewards calendar, with some rewards being tweaked (earning Planarite caches should now provide more Planarite for most level bands) and others being reworked (such as the Individual Reward Charge objective). Throw in a whole mess of balance changes, especially for Clerics and Primalists, and the overall balance of the game has been rather thoroughly adjusted, although if you were hoping for new content to go along with it, you may be disappointed.

For me, the Battle Pass is way better than having to see lockbox mount all the time.

The problem with Rift is it’s a dead world. Questing out in the world is really lonely. You won’t see any other players because all the people still playing are max level. They need to go and cut down on the rifts opening up with no one to close them anymore. The rift mobs kill the quest NPC’s now all the time.

To be fair running around GW2 Core Tyria doing map completion I’m lucky if I see a couple people scattered around, that’s just the way it is with MMOs (then again I play in the middle of the night early morning).

What is this battle pass? I saw dailies etc mentioned there, its pay to quest?

Yep.

Well, you get the daily and weekly quests for free, which let you go up the ranks for an exclusive(?) artifact set and minor non-exclusive rewards, but you have to pay for a pass to access the exclusive vanity rewards, and subscribe on top of that to get ‘bonus’ major non-exclusive rewards.

The gist is that you play compete the quests and at some point before the pass’s end you spend ~$10 to unlock the themed cosmetic items.

Hmm and this replaces the lockboxes? Or is it on top of those?

Its on top of everything else. Doesn’t replace anything.
