Torchlight Frontiers brings back its fame and contract system

Make sure that you have your lawyer go over the fine print

Early Torchlight Frontiers testers might recall a previous version of the fame and contract system that experimented with a daily quest-and-reward format. Echtra Games took that out of the game a while back to retool it, but now with Update 9, it’s back and better than ever.

Basically, the assignment board dishes out simple quests designed to fill up one’s contract meter with fame. Once full, contracts pay out in fun rewards attributed to different levels. Some of the new prizes include a chicken coop, backpacks for your pet kitty, birds of prey, a campsite, and even the dino-like chakawary.

“Contracts are now a permanent component of the core Torchlight Frontiers experience,” the studio said. “Completing contracts is a prime method for adding to your fort decor collection, filling your bags with crafting materials for Relics and Enchantments, adding new pets to your menagerie, and more or less stuffing your pockets with the coolest lootz!”

I got the worst luck with the invitations to this game…
Huge fan of it but since the test announcement a year ago no luck getting in.

I signed up for the game as soon as it came out and just got into the alpha a week ago.

I got into the Alpha and it was fun for a while. I’m just not excited to jump back in it though. And it was very quiet the last time I played it.

No the game hasn’t had pet kitties before now, that isn’t backpacks for your pet kitties, that is PET KITTIES! Finally! Waah! *goes crazy*

The pets you bring along mostly all have little packs made on them because they have inventories too, so it’s showing you that they can carry things. Cats have been missing this entire time from the game.

We’ve figured they’d eventually be here, pets and a big different variety of them were a huge part of Torchlight games. And when they did a big pet update, a bunch of the pet icons showed cat pets in them even though there weren’t cats yet.

That has to mean cats are coming, either they are here with that update or are soon to be (I haven’t been in game yet, but I sure will be tonight to check!).

If they end up part of some reward system, I’ll be immediately working on it. KITTIES! Ah ha ha ha ha, finally, kitties. *cat obsessed*
