Well, I guess.

MMORPG fans have been in mourning for the last few weeks following the death of Brad McQuaid, one of the most popular veteran developers in our genre thanks to his work on EverQuest, Vanguard, and of course, the upcoming Pantheon MMO. Ahead of Thanksgiving, fans held a streamed memorial to honor him; now, McQuaid’s friends and colleagues are hosting a real-world memorial.

West Coast folks can make their way to San Diego for the memorial event, which will be held the afternoon of December 17th at the Bernardo Heights Country Club. You’ll need to RSVP on Facebook to let the hosts know you’re coming, as it does appear fans are welcome to attend.

Our own Justin Olivetti penned an article celebrating McQuaid’s life and work just a few weeks ago. McQuaid’s passion and commitment to this genre will be deeply missed by the MMORPG community.
