Phantasy Star Online 2 alters the rewards of its Xbox Game Pass Ultimate perks

Goodbye dignity.

If you’d somehow managed to miss this fact, Phantasy Star Online 2 is currently live in North America as an Xbox One exclusive. That is only for the moment, of course (you can see that just scrolling to the bottom of the page), but it does mean that right now there’s a strong push to get Xbox fans on-board with the title. Part of that is offering perks for the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers among the playerbase, but the original version of the package has been altered.

Players who already claimed the originally announced version of the package will still be able to claim it as long as they do so before March 31st; for the moment, acquiring the pack is disabled, and the new pack planned for March 31st will be available to players with some item rewards change. The change is meant to help preserve the in-game economy and overall balance; most notably, it no longer includes a large dose of in-game currency but instead provides other useful consumables. Which is probably a good thing, unless you were looking forward to having all the in-game money and hadn’t claimed your pack yet.
