You know that old joke about how you could get the Model T Ford in any color you wanted as long as it was black? Well, Warcraft III: Reforged continues its long trend of being a variant on that joke because the latest update will give you everything you want as long as it’s behind-the-scenes matchmaking improvements that don’t actually require a patch download. For players who are concerned about their status in ranked matches, this is good news!

For players who were interested in things like ranked ladders, custom campaigns, profiles, clans, or actual fixes for recurring connection issues, this is essentially confirmation that the game remains a notable downgrade from its prior version. The game’s last actual patch has still not added these features, which means that it remains an open question of when the game will reach the standard of features that were present in the classic version of the game before this remake launched. But hey, new matchmaking.
