Pantheon: Rise of the Fallen has shared another monthly developer roundtable podcast for fans and followers of the game, but this particular topic might be a prickly one if some of the video’s reactions are an indicator. In it, Ben “Kilsin” Walters sits down with customer service manager Michael “Artois” Butler to answer questions related to pledging, fundraising, and rewards for backers.
Many of the questions asked about adding extra pledge options, subscription purchase options, and whether early Kickstarter backers will be able to hook their old pledge rewards to their current accounts again. On that last subject, one of the questions asked about a $5 early access addon and whether it will be honored in the future. On that subject, Butler stated that there are likely not many players that such a situation impacts and so he’ll look at individual accounts to ensure they get their paid-for access.
The video itself drew a variety of harsh critiques from fans of Pantheon, with many comments calling it a poor choice of topic and a sales pitch. Some of the more acerbic remarks stated that some backers had lost faith that the game will even release, while others are outright calling it a scam – but then again, that’s true of the comments of pretty much every Kickstarted MMORPG that’s been in development for more than a year or two. If you’ve got about an hour to yourself to listen to folks talk about crowdfunded MMORPG money matters, you can judge for yourself with the embed after the cut.
