After just a day of delay, New World’s weekly patch – 1.0.4 – rolled out to the live servers early this morning.
“Update 1.0.4 is primarily focused on fixing the top issues our players have been hitting in recent weeks, especially those impacting wars,” Amazon says. “Notable fixes include resolving the AoE magic effect War exploit, the issue preventing players from being able to appropriately increase their Faction token cap, and beginning work on addressing issues causing invulnerability. We’d like to thank you for your patience as our team continues to work on resolving the issues.”
The patch notes herald the return of server transfers, starting with the US West servers; if that goes well, the other regions will be reenabled this evening at 5 p.m. EDT. Transfers had been halted a week ago over a rather nasty gold duping bug.
Outpost Rush has also begun to restart with South American servers; that’ll roll out to the other servers in chunks, with US West at 1 p.m. EDT, US East at 3 p.m., Asia Pacific at 5 p.m. EDT, and Europe at 10 p.m. EDT.
The rest of the notes are also welcome; for example, performance in multiple types of content have been improved; the number of starting beaches has been reduced “to increase the probability of new players and friends being able to start together”; companies are being reimbursed for treasury bugs; faction token caps have been increased; and the studio has fixed numerous bugs, including the rally point exploit and several invulnerability bugs.
