One Shots: Check out my nifty bone collection

Some might come upon giant piles of bones in MMORPGs and assume that the Evil Presence is trying to be super-intimidating, but nothing could be further from the truth. The Evil Presence is actually being hospitable and showing off its pride and joy — 424,000 bones that it managed to collect from naturally and humanely deceased adventurers.

We can’t say for certain whether or not Katriana played with the bones and made a bone fortress when she ventured into Lord of the Rings Online’s Barad Dur, but at least the option was there!

If you have small children in the room, shield their eyes from this upcoming gratuitous SHOWER SCENE.

“Yes, Eulmore is a horrible, dystopian society run by an evil megalomaniac… but at least it has working showers,” posted Scott. “The fact that FFXIV takes the time to point out that your Warrior of Light is, perchance, a little stinky from months of fighting evil is a very nice touch to the game.”

Another thing that FFXIV does well is provide bright shiny nightlights for the countryside, just in case you were nervous about going out after dark.

“It’s a good use of stuff to make things look pretty,” said Hurbster.

And as the night arrives in the game, Minimalistway discovers an awkward social situation: “Nothing better than sitting around campfire … with people who hate you! (yes, the NPCs don’t like me).”

But we like you, Mini. We do.

I’m a little concerned for Utakata, as all of the color seems to have seeped out of Blade and Soul for our favorite pint-sized adventurer. Or this is part of an artistic series of photographs, I dunno.

Hey, it’s June! We’re almost halfway through the year, so let’s crank it up with some summertime screenshots (or wintertime if you’re down under) in the comments section!

Every week, One Shots shines a spotlight on the best community screenshots from your MMO adventures. If you have a great pic to share, email it to justin@massivelyop.com with the subject “One Shots.” Make sure that the picture is over 880px wide and comes with a description or story!
