The Daily Grind: What unlaunched and canceled MMO do you wish could be revived?

I suppose it's cheaper than actually hiring someone to design these spaces?

It’s not uncommon to ask MMO players which sunsetted MMO they’d like to see returned to life. That’s not the game we’re playing in today’s Daily Grind!

Today, we’re just going to home in on canceled MMOs that we wish had made it out the door, or maybe could be restarted and released – just games that never made it to launch at all. I’m inspired by Justin’s recent Game Archaeologist, where he noted six MMOs that were killed off before we ever got to play them. On his list is the first one that leaps to my mind too: EverQuest Next. I really wanted it. I still really want it. I don’t even have many fond memories of EverQuest, but I hoped that SOE and then Daybreak could bring its vision into the future and make a big-budget MMORPG that actually married the past and present. Alas.

As a fun side note, we did a similar Daily Grind on this topic over seven years ago, and back then I picked Imperator.

What canceled MMO that never made it to launch do you wish could be restarted and launched today?

Every morning, the Massively Overpowered writers team up with mascot Mo to ask MMORPG players pointed questions about the massively multiplayer online roleplaying genre. Grab a mug of your preferred beverage and take a stab at answering the question posed in today’s Daily Grind!
