MassivelyOP’s not-so-serious end-of-the-year awards continue today with our pick for the best very good boy in MMOs this year, which is to say, the best animal. (We call these silly awards the Golden Yachties in honor of that dank meme about how games bloggers sail around on a golden yacht with all their blogging money. Obviously, our yacht is constructed from rhodium-encrusted moonrock, not mere gold.)
And the winner is…
FFXIV’S HIPPOS
“I daresay this is going to win our 2022 award for Most Hippo-Filled Quest Series if that were an actual thing, which it is not,” MOP’s Eliot said of Final Fantasy XIV’s patch 6.15, which of course includes the most adorable hippopotamus rickshaws I’ve ever seen. HIPPO CART. Anyhow, we had to make it a real award. What a very good boy!
