PvP MMORPG Abyss begins signups to an upcoming open playtest on Steam

Before it begins its early access release on April 18th, the PvP sandbox MMORPG Abyss has one more playtest to run – and this time it’s open invitation for Steam players.

The game is now allow interested fans to request access to an open playtest on Steam, which is set to start sometime this week with a PvP tournament, while following weeks will offer up PvP events that promise unique cosmetic rewards for those who participate. Testing schedules were not specified in the announcement, as developer Old World Labs is seeking player votes to determine whether testing will occur on weekdays or weekends in “general chat”; whether this means in-game chat or Discord chat isn’t immediately clear.

Just as a refresher, Abyss aka Abyss Online caught our notice last August for arguably bad reasons, as it was already trying to sell currency and tried to hide the fact that it first started life as a “satirical” NFT game known as Metagates. The title has since readjusted its design and has been running tests through the tail end of last year and the beginning of this year, which leads us to this new open playtest step.
