Seek & Destroy. It’s more than just a classic Metallica song; it’s the name for the next major update to War Thunder, which is set to arrive sometime this month and bring with it new weapons of war in both missile and vehicle flavors.
The missile in question is the active radar homing missile (aka the FOX-3) that Gaijin Entertainment previewed earlier, which will be fielded by several existing aircraft. The patch is also bringing with it new Belgian and Dutch aircraft, a German minesweeping warship, a new Chinese infantry vehicle, and a Canadian main battle tank. Finally, there will be two new maps for naval and aerial battles.
Speaking of aerial battles, Gaijin is planning on making tweaks to air battles and several existing aircraft. The battle ratings for several specific aircraft will be elevated by one step in order to stop matching players using missile aircraft up against planes without countermeasures, while spawn points for attackers will be moved closer to the main combat zone. These tweaks are planned for sometime after the major June update.
