Final Fantasy XIV releases its updated Dawntrail benchmark, shares initial details for June 14 Live Letter

Today is the day when players can see if the adjustments and updates made to the Final Fantasy XIV: Dawntrail benchmark tool make their characters look even better. As promised, the second version of the tool is now available to download.

Readers may recall that this update to the benchmark was meant to address some oddities with character lighting and details, particularly from within the tool’s character creator, while also fixing some discovered texture oddities and applying all of the adjustments to the Dawntrail expansion proper.

It looks as if the vast majority of fans are pleased with these updates if replies on Twitter are any indicator, so if you were among those who were unsettled by your character’s looks previously, then it might be worth taking another peek.

In other FFXIV news, the devs are reminding players that the next Live Letter broadcast will be on June 14th starting at 7:00 a.m. EDT. This letter (unsurprisingly) promises to focus on Dawntrail once again, with some of the “latest updates” and new gameplay from within the expansion.
