Gran Saga heralds its global release plans with multiple name drops, music, and lots of character art

Back in 2020, we first learned about Gran Saga, a character-driven anime MMORPG for PC and mobile from Korean developer NPixel that made its initial launch in January 2021, but we’ve otherwise seen it fall off of our radar since it appeared to be solely housed within South Korea at the time.

Three years later, it looks as if the MMO is broadening its horizons beyond Korea, Japan, and other major Asian territories, as NPixel announced that Gran Saga is making way to a global release. The press release confirming the move is extremely thin on details like release timing, potential tests, or platforms, but it is very quick to point out it hired a lot of major artists to bring it to life: Name drops include a logo designed by artist Yoshitaka Amano, co-composer Yoko Shimomura of Kingdom Hearts fame, and anime voice actors like Kenjiro Tsuda, Aoi Yuki, and Junichi Suwabe.

For the time being, the studio has opened up a website that promises to provide more details later, a Twitter account that currently is awash with loads of character artwork, and a YouTube playlist sharing the game’s soundtrack.
