Tencent’s MMORPG Tarisland is officially live in the west today with Season 0: Mystery of the Hollows

Don’t get too excited: While Tencent announced in Discord this morning that its free-to-play not-a-WoW-clone MMORPG Tarisland is live “with servers opening across regions,” it means only some regions, as originally outlined in its schedule. As I type this, the European servers are showing in the server list, but the Americas aren’t; they are set to open at 11 a.m. (North) and noon (South) EDT. But come that time, we’ll be off to the Mysteries of the Hollows.

“From this moment, players worldwide can access the game on App Store, Google Play and its official website,” Tencent says in its formal PR, slightly prematurely as noted. “Fans can immerse themselves in Tarisland’s stunning fantasy realm, selecting from nine unique classes and endless character customization to begin their epic journeys. To commemorate this momentous launch, Tarisland debuts Season 0: Mystery of the Hollows, introducing a vast array of content including five 5-player dungeons, eight 10-player raid bosses, PvP arenas, and engaging open-world activities. Each class wields two specialized talent trees and eight ultimates, enabling players to forge distinct identities.”

MOP’s own Chris is streaming the game – hopefully – at 2 p.m. EDT this afternoon, so you can join in the fun then if you’re stuck at work.
