Allods Online sees a spike of Steam activity as 15.0 update promises a new area and class tweaks

Allods Online is one of those MMOs that just keeps on rolling despite its existence not really making any major waves in the wider MMORPG universe, but that changed earlier this week when a Redditor noted how the My.Games MMO saw a sudden surge of player numbers on Steam.

The headcount isn’t exactly what one would call mighty in the wider spectrum of concurrency numbers, hitting a new all-time peak of just over 1,000 players, but it’s also a major jump from the double-digit numbers that were in-game over the past few years, and the player count is so far continuing to steadily remain north of 900 players.

Naturally, this uptick in interest in the game has caused no small amount of armchair theory, with most believing that this is just a surge in bot activity, but what might also be bringing the game back to people’s minds is its forthcoming 15.0 update, which Allods first started teasing back in May. This new content patch is opening the new realm of Jigran, applying upgrades to item earnings, and introducing a variety of class tweaks, with a particular focus on making the Psonicist easier to play.

A release date for 15.0 hasn’t been provided by Allods yet, so players have been otherwise keeping themselves busy with various events. Some of the most recent ones that are ongoing for this month include a Falling Stars event at the Tropical Atoll and a special event that’s just for the Alchemist profession.
