It’s very important for you to make morbols feel good about themselves. Sure, Final Fantasy XI’s incarnations are among the more toothsome and tentacular (that’s not a word) incarnations of the series mainstays, but the Ambuscade battles being added in the next patch on August 13th features Jody, Julika, and Vivian! They’re idols, by Morbol standards! And so players are encouraged to give them a /cheer to help motivate them during the battle, although whether that will make the battle easier or harder remains to be seen.
Players will also face off against a squad of meebles using elemental spells, requiring careful use of the Bar-element spells and abilities to avoid taking big damage. It’s another smaller update for the game, so the main thing on display are the new Ambuscade opponents, but at least you can look forward to some complexity in those battles. Plus, you get to fight against plant monsters who are considered idols! That’s something, yes?
