The “open-world action adventure RPG” that is Crimson Desert has been making a lot of noise since Pearl Abyss revealed that it will be playable at Gamescom 2024, but now it’s bringing even more noise – and some fresh gameplay – with a look at one of its boss fights.

The preview opens with protagonist Kliff finishing off a search for some missing kids, which sees him fighting a group of bandits who all express a fear of a mountain spirit and admit to kidnapping the kids in an effort to appease it, followed by a fight against the White Horn boss monster itself.

The video grants a pretty complete look at Crimson Desert’s action combat, with Kliff using various sword, shield, bow, and brawling abilities all throughout (he even DDT’s some fool at one point), while the White Horn boss is a three-phase fight in the eye of a whirling snowstorm. It’s an action-packed seven minutes of single-player RPG gaming that can be seen below for those who are curious, though we’re still waiting to learn anything about the game’s earlier mentioned multiplayer features.
