Overwatch 2 discusses upcoming changes to clash mode, dates World of Warcraft skins for September 17

Season 12 of Overwatch 2 brought plenty of new things last month, and now that we’re in the mid-season point of the update, it’s time for Director Aaron Keller to run down reception and adjustments due for the shooter.

First, Keller expresses delight that the new support character Juno has been so well-received and some relief that players are able to counter her lock-on ability. As of now, she sits in the “safe but strong category” in terms of her power – precisely where the team is looking for her to be.

While Juno might be in the right spot, Season 12’s clash mode is due for several more tweaks including increasing match length, incentivizing attacking other objective points, increasing the sense of fairness in favor of the attacking side, and continuing to keep matches clear and understandable. These tweaks are planned to arrive in sequential chunks, while a mid-season balance pass plans to reduce some of the survivability of tank characters.

In other Overwatch news, the promised trailer for Blizzard’s collaboration with itself (aka the World of Warcraft event) has gone live, and it confirms the collab is literally only about character skins. The video’s blurb announces that these will begin on September 17th.
