MechWarrior Online shifts September patch content into October and readies annual rewards

What does the third quarter of content updates hold for MechWarrior Online? Well, some bad news, some good news, and some goodies if you’ve been an active player in the team vs. team PvP vehicle shooter according to a synopsis post from Piranha Games.

First, the bad news: Content that was scheduled to arrive to MWO this week has to be pushed back into the game’s October patch, meaning there will be maintenance but nothing new on September 17th. On the other side of the coin, October is bringing lots of new things like a new early access map and the promise of a new mech, while the game’s next free mech event is promised soonâ„¢.

In the more immediate future, there’s the game’s annual free reward handouts arriving to those who have played the game or bought cash shop items. As usual, what freebies are handed out falls under specific requirements, but the general rule of thumb is players are getting bigger shiny for spending more money. And on the subject of spending money, the Bane chassis that’s due on November 19th can be pre-ordered now. Cash shops are fun, aren’t they?
