Back in August we got wind of a new Finnish game studio called Social First and its plans to create a “cross-platform social MMO”; little much was known beyond the studio’s desire to create a new social media platform-like environment and that testing on the game had already happened a couple of times. We now know the official name of this game – Nexus Station – along with more upcoming testing plans.
For all intents and purposes, Nexus Station reads similarly to titles like Roblox: Players can use a simple in-game level designer to craft things like PvE dungeons, parkour races, or PvP arenas, all of which are played in a 2.5-D side-scrolling perspective. The game also heralds the ability for players to trade digital items in an official secondary marketplace with real-world money.
Nexus Station is planning a mobile early access launch for sometime this year, with a PC early access release to follow; interested gamers can either sign up for a newsletter, join the Discord, or peek at the game in action in the trailer below.
