It probably will not stun you that the team at Fantastic Pixel Castle is rather pleased about how its third prototype milestone for Ghost went, since… you know, otherwise the studio probably wouldn’t write about it. But it was also a very small prototype tested externally by about 20 people, and it’s still worth reading about it because it shows how the upcoming MMORPG’s design is progressing. And there’s a lot of progress still to be made, considering that one of the main takeaways is that there’s a lot more to be done, but the game’s blue zones fundamentally do work now.

The game’s core idea is that red zones are “classical” MMO zones with shared quests, objectives, and locations, while blue zones are randomly generated each time and are meant to be different for the players whenever they venture out. And while the game is still early, testing the current direction for blue zones was vital to ensure that the team was on the right track – which the third milestone confirmed. Check out all the details in the official dispatch, along with a preview of the next biome the team is prototyping now.
