Last month, the co-op survivalbox Bellwright talked up new village prosperity mechanics that were coming in its next update. That update has since gone live, bringing those aforementioned features and a variety of quality-of-life tweaks for its playerbase.

The self-titled Villages 2.0 patch brings prosperity mechanics that dynamically react to player actions at and near towns, lets players recruit fighters from other towns via its new militia system, and introduced several new things to add to towns like roads that improve travel speed and decorations.

In terms of QoL, that includes the ability to manage buildings before they’ve been constructed, options to fine tune what tools and equipment are at each building, a new village information panel, improved companion behaviors, and the ability to relocate and disassemble structures without losing resources, among many others. The patch notes spell out all of the improvements and updates.
