Fallout 76 just launched its ‘most demanding content’ ever with the Gleaming Depths raid

Remember earlier this fall when Bethsoft surprised everyone by announcing raids for Fallout 76? Well, you can fight over whether these four-person content runs constitute a raid or just a difficult dungeon romp, but either way, Gleaming Depths is live today, free for all players with a hankering to do some new endgame content.

“The Gleaming Depths is a new raid that takes you to the Ash Heap and underground into a former Enclave laboratory where they once researched Ultracite,” the studio says. “Why has the lab been abandoned and what happened to the former occupants? The Gleaming Depths is the most demanding content released for Fallout 76 so far. The five separate encounters in this raid will test your teamwork, equipment and your limits.”

Naturally, there’s loot in it for you, as the game has created a new tier for the legendary system: Four-Star mods to convert old weapons into Four-Star weapons. The patch also includes a new title system for the game; it allows players to earn a prefix and suffix for their character names.

The update launches alongside season 19 aka The Scientific Forge, which offers pets, paints, outfits, and decor for your C.A.M.P.s. Yes, the pets are cute. Yes, there’s a cat and a dog. Forgot all about that raid thing, didn’t you?
