Let’s assume the mobile and PC gacha RPG Neverness to Everness caught your attention when it was announced and detailed earlier this year and you’ve already pre-registered for the game. What do you do now? Well, you can look on jealously in the direction of China, as developer Hotta Studios opened up a closed beta test in the region, or you can sate your hunger with some gameplay details shared by the studio from that test. That last one is probably more fun.
The latest PR from the game talks up some of the more comedic elements of NTE’s story, which Hotta says “creates a more relaxed atmosphere for players, distinct from the intense and somber storylines, but also adds a layer of fun and interactivity.” Hotta also talks up the story’s “fresh perspective on urban life” as well as the animation for the game’s various characters and the visuals within the city of Hethereau.
As for gameplay matters, the latest CGT build brings some new characters, multiple new bosses to fight, and several updates to the RPG’s driving gameplay such as a damage model and the ability to rent cars from the roadside (which kind of sounds like carjacking to us but whatevs). Unfortunately there aren’t any new gameplay videos or dates for when NTE will slide its way westward, but there is an animated short that is… well, distinct, certainly.
