The first half of the year in side-scrolling MMO Closers is going to be all about adding a few new things to do and adjusting a wide assortment of existing features. That’s the general summary of a recent dev video with producer and director Hyun-Jun Kang, who outlines the game’s roadmap at the start of the next year.
The month of January will introduce a new Martyr’s Hill area, which features a new storyline circulating around the character Ria and a mysterious egg that brings several factions into the narrative. The new scenario will also feature a returning training program feature, which brings a wave-style dungeon for players to take on.
The new year will also add a new boss rush-style battle program that promises to introduce new fights that feature new mechanics while also lessening what Kang describes as “frustrating mechanics or sudden high-damage attacks.”
Other additions coming to the game include one epic module and nine epic trinkets, a hologram collecting feature that grants latent effects for collecting character art, and a new UI element that will let players enter dungeons quickly.
As for gameplay changes, players can expect a remake for Sylvi’s skills, a “grand balance patch” for multiple characters, improvements to the legion program feature that include some new rewards, and a change to daily, weekly, and monthly reset times. All of the details await in the video below.
