Kickstarted survivalbox Solarpunk rolls out its multiplayer closed beta, aims for 2026 release

Usually when we trot out the term “solarpunk” around here, it’s in reference to the upcoming MMO Loftia. However, that game doesn’t have sole claim to this aesthetic, as there’s an online first-person co-op “calm” survival sim called Solarpunk that’s also in the works. And it’s this title that’s recently gone into closed beta to test out its multiplayer features.

“Building on previous playtests, the beta introduces a more polished experience with various tweaks and improvements based on community feedback. It’s a good moment to jump in, test things out, and help us move closer to release,” the developers said.

Solarpunk was kickstarted several years ago to the tune of $330,000 and promised the ability to build and explore floating islands with your own airship. Studio Cyberwave said that the next step after the beta is a full release, which hopefully will happen later this year.
