The seasonal celebration of Frostfall has arrived in Dauntless, bringing with it a new in-game event, a new behemoth, and the inaugural season of the game’s Hunt Pass. Over the course of the Frostfall event, slayers will be able to earn Silver Stars in return for collecting seasonal Frostflowers and taking trophies from certain behemoths. These Silver Stars will contribute towards players’ progress on the newly introduced Hunt Pass, which provides players with “a new way to earn limited-time rewards.”

The Hunt Pass has two tracks: the basic track, which is available to all players for free, and the elite track, which costs 300 platinum to unlock. As players complete activities and earn Silver Stars, they’ll progress through the Hunt Pass’s many tiers, earning a variety of valuable rewards as they do so. The basic track’s rewards include “emotes, platinum, and valuable reagents,” while players who shell out to access the elite track will be able to earn “Ace chips, notes, and exclusive transmogs” as well as the game’s “very first Elite flares.”

Although Frostfall may be about holiday cheer and shiny presents, it also brings with it a more sinister new arrival: the new behemoth, Valomyr. This bizarre, insectoid creature “presents one of the purest manifestations of living aether yet seen by the Slayers of Ramsgate,” and players will need to make use of all the resources at their disposal if they want to survive its aether blasts and dangerous drones. Those with the skill to emerge victorious from the hunt will be handsomely rewarded, however, as the creature’s parts can be fashioned into a brand-new set of armor and weapons that “possess sharp, organic qualities that naturally channel radiant energy while invoking the twisting aerodynamics of the Valomyr’s majestic carapace.”

If you want to check out all the details on the Frostfall festivities, including the new Hunt Pass and the Valomyr, you can find everything you need to know over at the game’s official site. Also, we’re expecting some big news from Dauntless later today, so be sure to stay tuned to find out what’s in store.
