We took a look at Destiny’s Sword at this year’s PAX East and found it to be an interesting project in the early stages of development. That development is moving ahead, and as proof of that fact you can now check out the game’s mission statement on the official site. Simply put, the idea is to portray not just the immediate physical impact of combat but the long-term impacts on both physical and mental health.

As such, while the game is a strategic MMO with tactical battles, player progress is determined as much by how you manage your troops and the empathy with which you handle conflicts as by simple number-crunching. Check out the full statement to learn more about the game’s approach to mental health; the game is obviously not ready for release yet (it’s planning for 2020) but it has a lot of interesting ideas on display.
