There have been a few more droplets of information heading into the beta for World of Warcraft: Shadowlands. For one thing, you know those heirlooms you spent a whole lot of gold upgrading to ensure faster leveling? It turns out the experience bonus on heirlooms will be removed when Shadowlands goes live, presumably to be replaced with some other bonus. Similarly, conduits for soulbinds will be destroyed when overwritten, so you can’t swap one conduit for another or remove one you want placed elsewhere.
Naturally, players were completely blase about both problems, by which we of course mean the comments are full of people quite upset with these choices. The heirlooms change is understandable (since these are significant investments of gold made over multiple expansions), although the conduit approach is not dissimilar to how socketed gems, Artifact relics, and similar improvements have worked over the years. All the same, it’s clear that these are not popular decisions, though whether or not Blizzard will respond to that animus remains to be seen.
