Remember the Phantasy Star Online 2 launch fiasco with the Windows store? Of course you do. It was terrible. And it led to a lot of people saying, with varying degrees of exasperation, that the game should just be on Steam because of course it should be. Well guess what? Now the game has a Steam page. No Microsoft stuff, just Steam.
Of course, the page itself doesn’t currently have any options to wishlist the game, much less download it, but the video included on the page mentions August, and Reddit is stating August 5th as the date of the launch based on page code. It definitely makes sense to expand the availability ahead of the game’s far-reaching New Genesis update (and in light of widespread issues with the game’s previous storefront), so while this isn’t confirmation… let’s just say that you should maybe go ahead and earmark August 5th as a potential starting point. That would work all right, yes?
