Are you ready to watch some new goalposts move around? Or are you ready for some new features to be iterated upon? There really are two ways one can look at the announcement of roadmap updates made by Star Citizen in its latest weekly community update post.

The announcement in question states that this coming Wednesday will see “a significant update” to the game’s public roadmap, with “the addition of 20+ new teams to the Progress Tracker and some highly requested new features to the roadmap itself.” The post also confirms that the monthly report for March for both Star Citizen and Squadron 42 will be arriving that day as well.

As for the rest of the week, players can look forward to a lore-focused Q&A section from the Narrative team and an update to the Subscriber Vault and Newsletter on Friday. This Thursday will not see another episode of Inside Star Citizen as the series takes its usual quarterly break, but it will return in a couple of weeks.

Longtime MMORPG gamers will know that Star Citizen was originally Kickstarted for over $2M back in 2012 with a planned launch for 2014. As of 2021, it still lingers in an incomplete but playable alpha, having raised around $350M from gamers over years of continuing crowdfunding and sales of in-game ships and other assets. It is currently the highest-crowdfunded video game ever and has endured both indefatigable loyalty from advocates and immense skepticism from critics. A co-developed single-player title, Squadron 42, has also been repeatedly delayed.
