With Pantheon: Rise of the Fallen shifting its development method yet again to a six week-long seasonal cadence, players have once more come to Visionary Realms with questions, and those questions got their answers in a Q&A video.
A few of the answers provided details that were shared by the studio already, as they confirmed the first season’s start date of February 17th and talked up the additive nature of season content, but a few more granular details were also given, like confirmation that Season 1 will feature most of the Avendyr’s Pass zone, that a first pass of a wolf pet for Shamans is en route, and that Avendyr’s Pass will be the focus for the next three seasons.
The studio also explained how seasons will be broken up into “chapters,” with plans for no wipes during chapter updates unless they’re deemed necessary in order for players to progress through a season’s opening world. This seasonal content method will also effectively replace alpha and beta testing as we know it, with seasons being the way testing content is deployed until release.
Other answers include word of mid-season patching to address bugs, confirmation that the first two chapters have been “locked in,” notice that there will be a wipe before Season 1, and early details of future seasonal content additions like PvP, a frigid landscape, and the Ogre race among them. You can either check out the full Q&A below or this helpful synopsis assembled by Reddit. By all accounts, this new seasonal structure is going to be quite a bit different from the 24-hour pre-alpha test that we got a look in to; make sure to read those impressions for more.
