Two new maps? New story? Land spears? Pish-posh; none of that compares to the personal housing system coming to Guild Wars 2’s Janthir Wilds expansion, and while word of the feature being stuffed inside of the MMORPG’s mastery system might have poured some cold water on the excitement, a recent revelation about the Homestead system might reignite some of that fire.
As first noticed on Reddit, the personal housing system is being worked on in part by Joel Eckert, a former designer for The Sims 4. “After working on The Sims 4 for many years, I’m very excited to be working on the Homestead system for Guild Wars 2,” Eckert revealed on Twitter. “Can’t wait to share more!”
As expected, the reveal has stirred up plenty of excitement among GW2 fans (and more than a couple references to Sims-level shenaniganry) and raised a lot of hopes for Homesteads. We expect there will be more information to pad the time between now and the expansion’s August 20th release. In the meantime, the Dragon Bash event is back between now and June 25th; players should already have their invitation to the event in their in-game mailboxes.
