Last year we first reported on Galactic Getaway, a cute Animal Crossing-style sci-fi life sim RPG that lets up to 60 players customize a planet into a fun-filled resort, all while offering multiplayer minigames for as many as 12 players, lots of customization, and several familiar life sim RPG trappings. Developer Akrew launched a Kickstarter this past February that pulled in just over $65K of its $50K goal.

So what’s been going on with this one since? Well, most of its news has been locked to backers, but we can point out that it held its first alpha this past April, which was heralded by Akrew CEO Daniel Luu as a rousing success, with most players staying in-game for the full four hours of the test. Additionally, the game put out a new teaser trailer last month that announces a 2024 release window, along with a look at the various activities available in the game. That trailer awaits below.
