Ever since the release of horse armor DLC for Oblivion many years ago, Bethesda has been pioneering new and potentially ill-advised DLC prices for years. But the studio has finally outdone itself with the General’s Persona Bundle for Fallout 76, a DLC pack of Atoms and a cosmetic outfit that can be purchase for $1,999. But don’t worry, Xbox Game Pass Holders get $200, making the bundle a mere $1,799! What an absolute steal!
The joke here, of course, is that the bundle is clearly just the victim of an incorrectly entered price; it’s supposed to be $9.99 (based on the last time this bundle was available) and isn’t supposed to be priced so highly. Unsurprisingly, though it was still up last night when Windows Central first spotted it, the bundle is currently unavailable for purchase as of this writing. It’s a mistake, not a genuine attempt to ask for thousands of dollars for a cosmetic outfit. You’re shocked.
Surprisingly, this isn’t the main topic of discussion on the Fallout 76 subreddit, where most people are talking about yesterday’s caravan update in markedly polarized terms. A lot of people are of the mind that caravans are terrible (for example, the popular post that just says “Caravans Are Terrible”) while there are others pretty pumped about the content. So it would be fair to say caravans are a land of contrasts, unlike the rather one-sided accidentally overpriced bundle.
