The Daily Grind: Which dead MMORPG needs a resurrection *and* has a possible path to get it?

Oh, thanks.

A while back, our team was working on a MapleStory piece when we did something we often do when writing about MapleStory: lament the death of MapleStory 2. Seriously, it was really cute and just did not get enough time to expand before Nexon axed it on our side of the world, which is a tragedy.

The extra frustrating thing is that Nexon still exists, it still has money, and MS2 wasn’t nuked over a licensing debacle. There’s not really anything stopping Nexon from putting together a team and getting it all back online. Compare that to, say, Star Wars Galaxies, where the license has long gone dark, or Firefall, where the company that owned it has been defunct for years.

Bring back the MMORPGs we liked, you cowards! Which dead MMORPG needs a resurrection – with the caveat that it has to be realistically possible?

Every morning, the Massively Overpowered writers team up with mascot Mo to ask MMORPG players pointed questions about the massively multiplayer online roleplaying genre. Grab a mug of your preferred beverage and take a stab at answering the question posed in today’s Daily Grind!
