If you’re a superhero MMORPG fan, you’re getting no fewer than two big holiday events this week, and the first is upon us now thanks to DC Universe Online’s Season’s Greedings event. That’s not a typo!
Daybreak’s Christmas event is chunked into two “holiday feuds” that pit players against Larfleeze of the Orange Lantern Corps. The first, Yuletide Fear/Winter Plunderland has players hunting down Larfleeze to snatch back stolen gifts, while the second, Ring in the Holidays, is a follow-up mission.
“Just when you thought you’ve taken care of the situation with Larfleeze; Looks like the Green Lanterns and the Sinestro Corps are locked into a heated battle against each other. But wait – Larfleeze is here too?! He’s taking advantage of the distraction to steal their stored Power Rings! Look for “Ring in the Holidays” in your Mission Journal to foil his greedy plans and steal them back before his grubby little hands get to them first! (To find and unlock “Ring in the Holidays” as a Daily Mission, you must complete “Yuletide Fear” or “Winter Plunderland” and “Season’s Greedings”).”
The missions reward holly leaves, which players can exchange for cosmetics and themed holiday rewards; we spy the traditional ugly sweater, frosty hair, masks, the requisite orange lantern, sculptures, and a snowy tree. That event is on through December 30th.
Daybreak is also giving away a freebie tactical mod to accounts with a toon over level 10, so make sure you grab that.
