Star Wars Galaxies Legends teases multiple theme parks for 2025, recaps its annual financials

Rogue server Star Wars Galaxies Legends is ending the year with one more newsletter for fans, and as usual, it’s packed with recaps and previews of what to expect. In fact, you probably already knew to expect Wookiee Life Day, as it’s one of multiple nostalgically hideous events celebrated in the game every Christmas. But we’re also anticipating the renewal of the Carrie Fisher memorial and the anniversary of the game’s sunset back in 2011 this month.

The letter’s high point is glimpse into future content: We’re getting a tease for the interior of the upcoming Jabba’s sail barge, two new heroic dungeons coming in the Jedi Theme Park part II, two new “smaller theme parks, a new world boss on Kashyyyk, the ongoing bans on sketchy player mods, seasonal vendors, and a massive competitive Jedi tournament called Trial of Legends. The devs further note that they’re intentionally not releasing a dev roadmap, owing to the fact that they don’t “want to ‘over promise’ or ‘under deliver.'”

In other SWGL news, the team just posted its next to last financial report for the year, and it’s pretty solid; the servers, tools, and fees amount to $15,989 in 2024, covered by players almost exactly, with a small pool in the bank for weak months. The big boost in funding unsurprisingly came in June, the game’s anniversary. “Thanks to all of you, we continue to have the e the financial resources we need to maintain our services and keep our cherished galaxy thriving,” the team wrote.
