Albion Online continues patching up Horizons with armor, weapon, and potion buffs

The application of patches to the Horizons update continues for Albion Online, and this time around it’s everyone’s favorite kind of patch: the item balance patch. Ahh, yes, that endless dragon’s tail chase of perfect balance in a PvP game. Smells like wormwood and bacon.

This latest round of gear adjustments is pretty much spread across the board: Buffs have been applied to some specific dagger, arcane staff, and frost staff skills; the holy staff pulse skill has been nerfed; a pair of war glove abilities have changed; and several named pieces of armor have gotten adjusted. The patch also applied “significant” buffs to several underused potions like acid potion, sticky potion, and hellfire potion; presumably all three of those are now more acidic, more sticky, and more spicy.

In terms of other features for the latest patch, that includes a change to one of the Albion Journal missions, an update to what spells are displayed, and updates when lair maps are visible for solo players clear encampments. This patch is generally pretty granular as you can see, so a moment to read the patch notes might be advised.

In other Albion news, the game’s YouTube channel has begun putting out some “interviews” with Sandbox Interactive’s executives, specifically game director Robin Henkys and studio co-founder and CTO David Salz. There’s not a whole lot that’s revelatory here, but if you want to hear each person’s thoughts on game design, technical design, and Albion’s improvement from the Comfy Chair, both videos await below.
