Star Wars: The Old Republic GU 7.6 goes live today with Dynamic Encounters and new PvP season

My old wounds are acting up and stuff.

Finally, Star Wars: The Old Republic will give players the content they’ve been craving since the game launched: the chance to herd Banthas on the surface of Tattooine. That’s not the only kind of Dynamic Encounter players can run into, of course, but it’s one of the options when patch 7.6 – dubbed Galactic Threads – adds the new system into the game. Initially the encounters will be localized to Tatooine and Hoth, but there will be other planets in the future, and it’s worth noting that some of the new encounters like Hidden Chain invasions will potentially span large chunks of the galaxy.

Naturally, there are new armor sets to earn along the way, and players can also pick up new mount options like the Meirm Cicada which takes both the player’s chosen companion and chosen mini-pet along as it skims the surface. Add in a new PvP season with objectives detailed in its own dedicated article, and SWTOR players have an abundance of different things to do for this particular update. Including herding Banthas. Alas, we cannot yet herd Nerfs, much less look scruffy while doing so. So far to go.

On Bsky, Broadsword noted that downtime for this patch is expected to be five hours, so you won’t see the servers back up until around 1 p.m. EST.
