It’s been a long time coming for the erstwhile fans of Blue Protocol to get to this point. Regular readers will no doubt recall that Bandai Namco’s original anime-styled MMORPG was headed for our corner of the globe via a publishing partnership with Amazon Games, but player issues with the game and financial troubles for Bandai Namco ultimately combined to kill the Japanese version and axe the game’s global launch ambitions in 2024. That was up until March of this year, when Tencent-owned Shanghai Bokura Network Technology confirmed a reworked version known as Blue Protocol: Star Resonance would make it overseas.
And now it’s here. Blue Protocol: Star Resonance is now live for fans across the globe as of 8:00 a.m. EDT. The game features eight different classes, each with two different specs to open up different styles of gameplay, while players explore the world of Regnus, with several open world maps, a variety of PvE activities, and the promise of lots of social gameplay features.
For those who went ahead and pre-downloaded the MMO on their PC or mobile devices, the time is now to hop in, run around, and maybe share some of your own initial thoughts. But perhaps take a look at the new trailer before you do all of that.
