Pre-purchase Hearthstone’s Blackrock Mountain for free card back

Even though it’s not out yet, you can go ahead and pay for Hearthstone’s Blackrock Mountain adventure pack to have it waiting for you when it goes live.

The second solo adventure to go into the trading card game, Blackrock Mountain is themed after classic World of Warcraft dungeons. The complete adventure pack is $25, and as an incentive for pre-purchase, Blizzard is dangling an exclusive Molten Core card back for those who take the bait now. You can pre-purchase the adventure only with real money.

Blackrock Mountain will release in April over a span of several weeks as new wings are opened. It will contain five wings and 31 additional cards. Players can eschew pre-purchasing it in favor of buying the wings separately.

A Dad Supreme burning_legion You look at your card back when you’re opening packs. Select whichever back feels luckiest before opening.

Kherova Buying card packs with real money and adventures with gold is extremely unwise. The pricing enormously favours buying the expansions with real money and card packs with gold.

Sadly proper criticism needs explanations to back up points, rather than using hyperbole like ‘disgusting’ and ‘useless’ and leaving it there.
I have no problem with those who dislike Hearthstone, my brother and sister in law despise it as they have been playing MTG since they were little. But there is a huge difference between bias and constructed criticism.

burning_legion Sorenthaz  Yeah, but they have a bazillion card backs as-is.  Like if I hop back into it at any point I can just flash my Black Temple one from Season 2 of Ranked play or w/e.

I just find it somewhat silly and pointless to collect.  Yeah the backs look cool, but it’s personally not something I’m going to go rabid over collecting.  Now if it were things like special card variants, that would be something.  But card backs are so barely noticeable and they just tell the other person that you did whatever to get it. Really the only card back that’s worth paying attention to is the Legend back since if you run into someone with that then you’re in for one hell of a game.

Actually, if you look at the right side of the screen you will see that both parties card backs(well, half-back) are visible for the whole match.

This is the first time I am really angry at Blizzard. I buy tons of card packs using real money at every “card expansion”. But I have paid Naxx with gold and want to do the same for Blackrock. AND I also want that card back!

ColdinT Buy one get one free still “fools” people decades later. I guess FREE still sounds better than 50% off when you buy 2. This is really no different. It’s all about getting something for FREE!!!!
