Just as Descent: Underground passed the halfway mark in its Kickstarter funding, the project also got the official greenlight from Steam. Descent was approved in under a week for the digital platform, which the team said would be but one of several outlets for the aspiring space MOBA.
Descent is at $322K out of $600K in its fundraising campaign with 10 days left to go. It also passed 5,000 backers and released a new map fly-through video that you can watch after the jump!

I respect the team that is making this, probably more than any other developers on the planet, but I don’t want to play a game where i’m just a space ship. So i didn’t contribute.
JohnT_NCÂ I was just going off this definition:

KiwiRed JohnT_NC Slaphammer Doh.  You’re right.  No need to argue that.  That’s what I get for posting when I’m tired.  :)
JohnT_NCÂ Slaphammer I’d argue the “M” is Multiplayer.
It’s looking better, I’ll give it that. Those craggy rocks look gross still, but it’s nice to see some technology in that setting… even if it’s dark as heck.
Slaphammer MOBAs definitely don’t have to be RTSs. A Battle Arena is pretty much any time-limited encounter with players competing against each other to complete one or more objectives within a relatively limited field of play (typically called a “map”). But don’t forget the “MO”. It has to be able to support a Massive playerbase and be Online. And they typically have a lobby where you can connect with friends and a match-maker to throw everyone into the arena.
9 days and a lot of ground to make up.
not gonna happen
McFatter DX2 66and my girlfriend at the time getting pissed and pulling the cable out the phone socket so she could call her friends while I was trying to play Doom vs a friend.
Wow… this takes me back in time to my 486.
Rhime Pretty sure that’s actual gameplay, except that the level hasn’t been populated with enemies and power-ups and whatnot. Â So it’s just a fly-through of a level in development.
