Betawatch: Star Citizen’s universe expands (December 4, 2015)

34
We do things for you! This is a thing.

The universe of Star Citizen is getting a bit bigger with the addition of 50,000 testers to its persistent universe. It also has a brand-new trailer if you want to see people getting out of spaceships and faffing about in space suits, which seems like the prelude to the most ridiculous installment of Grand Theft Auto ever. No one ever said you had to be a good citizen of the stars, right? (Dibs on that idea, incidentally.)

Other beta news? Ah, sure, why not?

Do we still have a list of games down below? Oh, yes indeed we do. Let us know if something has hopped test phases without us noticing in the comments!

As always, we consider an MMO to be in open testing if it features free, public signups and will server wipe prior to launch. An MMO is marked in closed testing if it’s running a private test phase that cannot freely be accessed by the general public; it’s usually under NDA as well. Early access and crowdfunded MMOs whose tests we deem legitimate will be included. So-called “open beta” soft-launch MMOs with cash shops, no sign of launch in the west, or limited interest for our readers will not be listed; we also do not list expansions.

Albion Online: Closed beta

Cotic_OP Psionicinversion I can’t say you are wrong, but do you have any examples of this?

Cotic_OP Psionicinversion  that would require actual thunder to steal. That Elite expansion has zero thunder apart from the one their marketing department is trying to create. It looks as butt ugly as always and it´s nothing else than more of the same boring stuff they had a year ago, no idea where you get the notion it would be competition to anything. Could as well call the newest “Nyan Cat in Space” competition .

Cotic_OP ^-^ LOL, wtf?  Damn I wish Dirk Smutt and all paranoid Elite fans would get exiled to a remote island where they can live out their paranoia and argue about all things SC for all eternity. TBH, why on earth should their Alpha release date have anything to do about Elite? That game has been dead in the water for half a year and is zero competition to anything, so please, give it a rest.  They had their 5 minutes of fame, it´s long over. Besides, Space Engineers is where it´s at. And in June, No Man´s Sky will finish it off.

Why do people even try to talk to that guy and why are we talking about him here?
He’s not worth either talking to or about, the hairs on the back of my head is more interesting than that guy..

alex_batista_demon Yeah, the module passes have been done away with, it is an open alpha now for anyone who has a game package.  Alpha 2.0 is slowly being rolled out on the test server, but will be available to all soon.

SoMuchMass Why the hell would a person express their opinion about something? Entitlement isn’t the only thing that reeks around here, baby. That sickly sweet smell coming off of your comment is one we call hypocrisy.

Derek Smart is an idiot and I don’t agree with him on anything but his reply to you was excellent, you complaining about it here again shows how right he was.

But saying “don’t play my game” to someone who’s interested, but simply put a slight question to the graphics is a middle finger to that person.  In fact, the middle finger is saying “fuck off” or “go away”, which is exactly what he’s saying.  It is 100% the same thing.   And that is not meaningless at all when a GAME DEVELOPER is telling this to potential customers inquiring about their game.

Also, you and Mr. Smart have no clue about what “SJW” is and instead throw the lable on everyone and everything that is a bit in the right in correcting something that is socially unacceptable (being rude to inquiring people and telling them to go away as a business representative is unacceptable).   Being SJW would be if he said “then don’t play, ******” and that last word was either a gender/handicap/whatever labeling to where that word was the focus of the conversation.  But it’s not.  The focus of and the issue of this is that he is supposed to be a video game developer who supposedly wants to sell a product to customers and is telling them to go away.
