The Elder Scrolls franchise is no stranger to delays, which is why it’s almost tradition for it’s spin-off card game to reveal that it won’t be making its anticipated launch window of this year.
When pressed about whether or not The Elder Scrolls Legends would be squeaking into 2015, Bethesda Vice President of Marketing Pete Hines broke the bad — but not unexpected — news by stating, “I think it’s safe to say it’s not coming in the next 15 days.”
The TCG was teased at E3 earlier this year as an Elder Scrolls-flavored alternative to Hearthstone, although little has been said about it since. Hines reported that the game is playable but not quite polished as the studio would like. He did not give a new target date for the TCG’s launch.

I suspect someone took a step back and went “why the heck are we doing this again?” and nobody could give a decent answer.
SoMuchMass Oyjord Mojang tried to break into the market a while back with “Scrolls” – there have certainly been quite a few that came in and fizzled. I think because it takes a lot more work than companies plan for and the lack of support strangles their own product. Scrolls actually had a lot of potential, for example, but they threw that away.
PizzaDoh MatthewRiddle Oyjord I am very familiar with card games. I’ve collected about a dozen of them. Pokemon TCG Online is a much better platform and allows you to earn cards in more unique ways and easier.
Hearthstone is not welcoming to new players or players who don’t want to drop money initially.
Armsbend People who don’t like the look and feel of Hearthstone but want a good online TCG will.
LordSolarMacharius I really doubt it, Fallout 4 and Skryim made them enough even if they have to take some losses. Â Also, TCG games don’t take long or aren’t expensive to develop. Â I just think their game wasn’t up to the standard of something like Hearthstone so they want to make it better. Â Just like Battlecry which wasn’t up to the standard of games like Overwatch.
I wonder if the failure of TESO to meet financial expectations is having anything to do with the delays getting this game to release.
I really wonder if this will come out of beta or if it will be Dawngate situation where the publisher decides that it won’t succeed in the current market.
Satyros All the games that have launched this year made their anticipated launch.
MatthewRiddle Oyjord Perhaps you’re not familiar with cardgames…………………..the fact you can play hearthstone for free and acquire decent cards via quests and crafting is pretty amazing and cheap compared to any physical TCG.
I don’t know what else you want besides to never feel an urge to pay money, HS is insanely fair with its business model and would be morons to make it so easy to acquire cards that nobody wanted to bother paying except for  a few whales.
MatthewRiddle Oyjord https://spellweaver-tcg.com/ , better than HS, definitely. And very F2P’ish.
