Grim Dawn’s story trailer is appropriately macabre

Not every game goes to the lengths of giving your character a backstory that starts before you log in, but then again, not every game is Grim Dawn. No matter what combat path they take, players will all start out the same: as a recently hanged person who was possessed by a malevolent force. Once that force fled, the player character was cut down and allowed a second chance at life, although it’s an unusual life now that the player can communicate with the etheral plane.

Grim Dawn is a multiplayer action-RPG by the makers of Titan Quest and is slated to launch soon. You can check out the new story trailer after the break.

aboomwithaview I really like the graphics and atmosphere.  I noticed that if you have a pet like a raven it will cast huge outsized shadows as you pass near it.  Mushroom clusters in caves cast a shadow for each mushroom.  The golden wheat looks so serene as it gets stained by blasted carcasses.  There are piles of corpses unceremoniously dumped in corners of caves.  They did a really great job on the visual appeal of the game.

Couple of hours in & its been a while since ive played it obviously. The graphics have had such a nice polish to them & the game really does feel a lot more complete thus far with nice little tutorial pop ups an such if needed.

Only lvl 10 on the my new Shaman thus far but just got my little Briar beasty to start helping me cull the undead.

I feel I should point out that Grim Dawn is a single player game first and foremost and that the multiplayer part is not a focus at least not at the moment, though who knows what the future holds.  While it works really well from what I understand I would not go into this game expecting a whole host of multiplayer options or leagues or any of the stuff that games like PoE and D3 push for their multiplayer aspects.
